All is Well

After work I went straight away to my not so local knitting store "Knitting Arts" and found the closest thing to my Fresco yarn's practically the same coloring, no one will notice. So now I'm about 75% done with the poncho, but still have not sent out one Christmas card or wrapped one present. If it weren't for my husband I would have never gone Christmas shopping. I would knit Christmas gifts, but there is no way that my knitting projects are gift worthy. I mean maybe, "Here's a scarf, I was thinking of you." but not, "Thanks Mom and Dad for spending a million dollars on my wedding AND getting me a Christmas gift, here's a shitty scarf. I think I'll pass on that.

So tonight I'm going to teach myself how to of, Stitch N' Bitch

Knitting Mania

The poncho that I'm making is taking forever. I realized last night at about Midnight that I was going to run out of my collinette fandango fresco cotton chenille, which is $22 a hank! Fuck!

This afternoon I called the yarn shop that I bought it at and they looked everywhere...and didn't find it. :-( Fuck! They just got a Collinette shipment in too and I guess they didn't order it or someone already bought what they ordered! I'm still going in tonight and checking!

I went to the Collinette website and they only ship selected items to the collinette fandango fresco cotton chenille not being one of them! FUUUUUCK!

Goodbye Petey

My 10 year old Cockatiel died on Friday. He had at least 3 strokes that I witnessed and the last one killed him. It was a sad evening, Kevin took me to dinner. The house is suprisingly quiet, Kevin put his cage outside for me so I didn't have to look at it. The only problem is we visited like 4-5 pet stores, it's what we like to do, and everyone had a cockatiel in it!!! I just about cried everytime I saw one. Kevin wouldn't let me get a Petey replacement so soon...we'll see.

Holiday Tea

Today is our annual holiday tea at work. I organized it and this year we have 9 people coming! Photos coming soon.

We go to this place called "Lisa's Tea Treasures" and it's basically decorated in all Victorian furniture. It's the most authentic tea party I've been to. My mom has been to the Peninsula hotel in Hong Kong (I think) and had high tea there, she says that it's pretty close at Lisa's.

After tea I plan on going home and knitting. I really want to finish this poncho so I can maybe learn some new things from my new book

I would just like to thank BogieBogie from the SnB SJSU group for helping me with my sidebar and recommending to me. I now know how to make my blog KICK ASS!!!!

I now have a knitting project status bar, which is SO COOL!

Half a Poncho

I'm at the halfway point of my Poncho. However, once I need to fold it over and sew up half of one side, I may need help. The yarn that I'm using I got from Knitting Arts in Saratoga ( ) called Fandango (it's hand dyed cotton) and a mohair/acrylic blend I got from Michaels. The more I knit it the less I like the purple/pink look. When I finish it off with fringe and ribbon I'll have to use some different colors to balance it all out.

DON'T THINK TWIIIICE..."I'm going to Vegas!"

I found out this morning that I'm going to Vegas now. I guess my boss spoke to someone and now we're going.'ll be really fun :-)

I found out today that now there is no interest in the tradeshow we were planning on going to in January. I mean so little interest that no one came the the tradeshow intro and information meeting. NO ONE CAME! I rushed in this morning and threw together a presentation for this meeting and out of 14 people invited 2 came and they were from the same business unit!

So I think that we're not going. Rats, I was hoping to get away to Las Vegas.

But I guess it's ok since I want to take the week off before Christmas...and if we were going I wouldn't be able to take that much time off.

On another note, today is Friday. I have made and canceled two appointments that were to take place after work today. I just don't feel like doing anything on a Friday night! Other than sitting on my ass in front of the TV and knitting!

Last night I went through the wedding photos that I picked out and narrowed it down to a managable #, however, it ended up not being so manageable. I have about 50 more photos than I should. So now, tonight, I have to narrow them down even more. While I was doing that, Kevin, my hubby, decided to rearrange the living room. He took out the shitty TV that doesn't work well and gets no channels and put in the TV that was in our room (the source of our marrital distress).

Monday was Kevin and I's 6-month wedding anniversary. Now you may not think that is worth celebrating, but I do! So, I got Kevin a cute card and we went out to dinner. Kevin got me Yes, a fish...a puffer fish to be exact. It's called a Devil Eyed Puffer, and he's totally cute. I haven't named him yet, but I will some day. :-)

OMG this day is lasting forever! I have done a million things today and it's only 4pm! Hurry Up...I wanna go home! I do have a presentation that I have to create before a meeting tomorrow about a trade show that we're going to in January, but why do it now when I can procrastinate!

Today I discovered myYahoo! It's the best thing ever, I totally love it. I can personalize my page however I want with cartoons, bookmarks and everything else. It's awesome! So I set it all up and I can get it anywhere on any computer.

I've joined like 100 web groups on Yahoo for knitting, quilting and scrapbooking...and bookmarked them all on myYahoo page. I have Cathy, Dilbert, and Luann that I see everyday along with the weather for 4 different cities. I can see what is on TV tonight when I get home and what is playing in the local movie theater. I'm in love with Yahoo!

On another note, I still can't get Hello picture thingy to work so I need to fix it before I upload anymore photos. Until then I'll be sending you to my YAHOO photos
